SQE 1 Third Attempt - Tips Please
Hi everyone. 👋
I have had the pleasure of sitting SQE 1 twice. My last attempt was in July 2023. Due to failing twice and life then just getting in the way, I took a very long break from the whole thing. I am due to sit for the third time in July 2026.
I went into this third attempt with the mindset of, ‘what will be will be’ and ‘give it your best shot because at least if you fail again, you’ll know that you did everything you could’.
I work full-time and am revising around work. For the past two months, I have been waking up at 5:30, revising from 6:15-8:15, going on my daily mental health walk before work and then starting work at 9:00. During my lunch breaks, I revise. After work, I revise for 1-2 hours, purely depending on how exhausted I am. I have been revising properly since January. I finished re-reading all of the material in April and since then I’ve been doing flashcards, daily SBAQs, one full timed mock at the weekend and reading the Revise SQE books for the topics that I really struggle with (Business law, SA, DR, Land, cough cough).
I have done everything than I can so far. I’ve answered every single question on the ULaw question bank, bought the Revise SQE mocks and the 100 Mocks. Admittedly, I’m not doing great on the 100 Mocks but I am aware of the fact that they are supposed to be incredibly difficult so I’m trying not to panic too much.
As this is my third attempt, I am desperate to pass. I know I shouldn’t but I have my heart set on passing this exam and I’m spiralling. I have been so close on my last attempts and I really want to overcome the hurdle. I know that the next 8 weeks are crucial so any dos and don’ts for the next few weeks would be greatly appreciated.
TIA! 😊
