Fiberglass Damage

Hi everyone, my husband and I bought a 5th wheel to live in about 6 months ago. It’s currently parked at my parents for when we move back from overseas. We had it inspected and it didn’t show any leaks or signs of damage, but we covered it in a large tarp until we could put it under shelter.

Last month when visiting, we uncovered the tarp to find a new split in the fiberglass over the door. The wood looks like it’s delaminated from some water intrusion. It was parked fairly level, maybe 1-2 degrees out of being perfect.

My questions are:

  1. How hard will this be to fix? The door is difficult to open so I’m scared there’s frame movement. Ballparks on cost? We live in the southeast

  2. We plan to live in this for a few years while we build. Should we just tape it up? It will be under cover 100% of the time
