I graduated in December with 3 offers for SWE at defense contractors. One was 93k in the metro dc area doing web/simulation work, the two others were 90k(embedded) in Missouri and 81k(embedded/web) in Detroit. I originally accepted the Metro dc job since I thought I’d be able to have more fun here and that I can stay with a family friend for cheap while I wait for a clearance, but after working for 3 months I’ve realized that this isn’t really the work for me and I regret not leaving this offer for the Missouri job. I also would’ve made more since it’s a lower cost of living over there and would’ve had my own place. Anyone have advice for a situation like this? Should I just ride it out and apply for another position in a year?
