3rd Party Apps Spying on You Across Leagues in Sleeper
I recently found a site that tracks and displays user activity across Sleeper leagues and it feels unethical and akin to cheating search sleeperstalker if you want to see it on google
From what I can tell, anyone can look up a Sleeper username and monitor things like:
- League activity
- Roster moves
- Trades
- Lineup changes
- Timestamps/activity patterns
- Multi-league participation
Even if all of this technically comes from public API data, aggregating it into a stalking/tracking tool changes the nature of the information entirely.
A lot of users probably don’t realize their activity across all leagues can be centralized and monitored this easily by strangers, league rivals, coworkers, exes, etc
This feels especially concerning because:
- There’s no obvious opt-out
- Unfair advantage to the people using it
- Its weird
I’m not saying the developer had malicious intent, but I do think Sleeper should look into:
- Better privacy controls
- Activity visibility settings
- API rate limiting or access restrictions
- Opt-out options for third-party tracking tools
At minimum, users should know this exists and have some control over how visible their cross-league activity is.
Curious what others think. Am I overreacting or is this legitimately invasive?
