Souvenir cookbook advice

Hi everyone,

I'm going on a trip to Belgium later this year. Last year I started a cookbook souvenir collection, so I'm looking for advice on books. I've got decent cooking and baking skills, but due to an energy limitation I can't always create very time intensive recipes.

Things I'm looking for:

  • something that has a link to the country/place I'm visiting. Either a book with famous dishes from the national cuisine, or written by a famous chef from the area (for example, if I were to visit the UK, I would be open to a Jamie Oliver book, even if it isn't focussed on British cuisine).

  • some technical, more time intensive recipes in the book are okay, but I would prefer a book I can also use when I have less energy. So no books that require a full day in the kitchen for every recipe please.

  • books in English or Dutch

  • based on my knowledge of the Belgian kitchen, I think I would prefer dessert or baking/pastry books, but I'm also open to recommendations for other books (dinner book, stew book, for example).

Thank you in advance for your recommendations!

Souvenir cookbook advice (Belgium and Paris)

Hi everyone,

I'm going on two short trips later this year (Belgium for one and Paris for the other). Last year I started a cookbook souvenir collection, so I'm looking for advice on books. I've got decent cooking and baking skills, but due to an energy limitation I can't always create very time intensive recipes.

Things I'm looking for:

- something that has a link to the country/place I'm visiting. Either a book with famous dishes from the national cuisine, or written by a famous chef from the area (for example, if I were to visit the UK, I would be open to a Jamie Oliver book, even if it isn't focussed on British cuisine).

- some technical, more time intensive recipes in the book are okay, but I would prefer a book I can also use when I have less energy. So no books that require a full day in the kitchen for every recipe please.

- books in English or Dutch

- based on my knowledge of the national cuisines, I think I would prefer dessert or baking/pastry books, but I'm also open to recommendations for other books (crêpe book, dinner book, stew book, for example).

Thank you in advance for your recommendations!
