So my cat doing this and it somehow reminded me of the Irish right wing

Honestly, one of my favourite things about Ivana Bacik and Ruth Coppinger is that there’s some of the few people who can actually criticise Sinn Fein in a way that feels like cohesive. I live in a blue shirt household and you would not believe the nonsense that they sincerely say as a criticism of Sinn Fein. Did you know this part of the original rise of Sinn Fein was complaining about too many houses being built and now more than 10 years later, they’re complaining about not enough housing being built? Shameful at a time when their policy has never been more messy unlike the big issues like transgender rights and immigration they’ve been so all over the place with their messaging. It feels like the kind of party that would be pretty easy to like criticise. And I know that Instagram comment sections are always just gonna be a living nightmare, but this is genuinely the kind of stuff I see in every Instagram post about them, I did not even come up with Sharia Fein. What would you consider your favourite criticisms of Sinn Fein, and no I don’t really want to hear about the Dublin Central by election because in all honesty most of the reaction just felt more like Fianna Fáil cope after running a humiliation ritual of a campaign.

What’s your thoughts on snacks and drinks that aren’t on boycotting lists

It just feels like the concept of drinking is owned by Israel at this point with how many drinks companies have in some ways ties to Israel. I’m now going club Orange but that isn’t really carried in as many restaurants as you think despite being an Irish brand. I’m also getting fake Oreos from M&S just recently I had a thought about if I’ve seen orange juice companies label on the list and I went to check and yeah both of orange juice companies that I quite liked the juice from are on lists, so I was just wondering what you would consider of own-brand juices from supervalue or Dunnes an okay alternative for someone who wants to try follow the boycott lists. Honestly though I think the most interesting thing would to hear what you’re favourite snacks and drinks are that don’t go to benefit a certain , very morally decisive and militaristic, country.

Question on hate coursing ban

Let me preface this post with a bit of a warning, I might sound stupid. Like, I’m not voting age yet, next general will probably be my first time ever voting , and I only really got to interested in the presidential campaign. To give you an idea , I put socialist in my user only to discover the Social Democrats (my favourite party) believe in social democracy which, technically isn’t socialism. So yeah , I’m probably gonna make a mistake, feel free to call me a noob

So Paul Murphy’s hare coursing bill unfortunately failed. I was already leaning towards the anti coursing side of the debate and I still would support a ban , however, I do notice some unfortunate similarities to right wing stances. Isn’t it kind of a right wing thing to criminalise something, it goes terribly wrong, drives the whole operation underground and makes everything worse for every one, only to then say that the left are trying to legalise it. I think of s3x work, which has had labour rights taken away from people who will still have to work because , y’know hunger, but now have much more dangerous conditions. Or the war on drugs, that has not really lowered drug deaths because it’s a health and addiction issue but we don’t have addiction nurses, but prison cells. When the government weren’t making statements that sounded like an Enid Blyton novel (seriously what the hell was William Aird cooking 🥲) they where talking about how places that have criminalised , only to drive this already cruel sport underground so now the hares are being treated a lot worse. I fully respect the beliefs of ACAB movements, however I would personally keep the guardians of peace ( their full name , not some title a cop lover bestowed upon them) around. Knowing that, I do acknowledge their shortcomings and believe this could become a real serious issue if the ban cannot be properly enforced.

Do my rants make sense? Sorry if too long but do ye know any thing about a police enforcement model that could properly apply a hare coursing ban to protect an animal we have literally put on the passport ???

How do ye debate data centres

I know the general Irish left stand in opposition to data centres and the tech millionaires but these are the politicians posting their rage on Instagram and other META platforms. Just wondering if any people on this sub are more experienced in this topic or know any points of research I could look into.

My main issues is dealing with the idea of still using Google or supporting political parties and their socials, while they talk about how much they hate the people running the socials and building the data centres
