Long-time user struggling with value—is it time to switch?

I’ve been using Monarch since the Mint sunset, and while I initially wanted it to be the "forever" solution, I’m finding that the value proposition just isn't there for me anymore.

I’m currently paying for the subscription, but I'm hitting a few walls that are making it hard to justify the cost:

  • Sync Issues: My 529 accounts have essentially stopped syncing properly.
  • Goals: I’ve found the goals feature to be pretty hit-or-miss—it’s not really helping me track progress the way I need.
  • Investments: Similar to goals, the investment tracking feels lacking for my needs.

I really wanted to like Monarch, but if the core features aren't reliable, the subscription price feels steep. Has anyone else reached a similar breaking point? If so, have you found a more affordable or reliable offering that handles investment/529 tracking better?

I’m open to suggestions, whether that’s a different app or even a move back to manual tracking/spreadsheets if the automation is consistently breaking. Thanks in advance!

Visualizing the LEGO Color Spectrum

I’ve been deep in the weeds building out the Color Explorer, and I'm really happy with how it’s shaping up for set analytics around color. It’s been a great exercise in visualizing complex data.

As I continue refining the feature I’m looking to polish the user experience. If you’re into data-driven cataloging, I’d appreciate your take:

  • Does this layout effectively show what you expect to see realated to colors?
  • From an interface design perspective, what’s one thing you’d change to make these pages more enjoyable/meanignfull?

Always looking to refine the tools I - thanks for the input.

I sold my entire Star Wars collection in 2019 and I’ve spent the last few years regretting it.

In 2019, I made the decision to sell off my entire Star Wars collection. It was an easy call at the time. I needed the space for other themes I was getting into, and honestly, the proceeds went to a good place as it helped cover a semester of college tuition for one of my kids.

It was the right choice then, and I don't regret the outcome, but every time I see a new wave drop or scroll through the sub, I definitely feel the "what-if" about a few of those specific sets and figs.

I've been trying to keep track of what I used to have, but it's tough to recall all the sets I once had.

Star Wars minifigs I use to own

What’s the one set or fig you sold or moved on from that you still think about today? For me it's Queen Amidala, Boushh and Teebo.
