Mid-life check in… Saving enough? Too much? Not enough?
45 y/o making $100k/year in a moderate COL area - mortgage is about $1500/m with 25 years left to pay, no other loans/debt. Annually, I’m putting $26k into retirement and $13k in a standard savings account that goes toward home improvements/emergencies/travel. I have $300k in retirement (mostly stocks) and $20k in that savings account.
Am I doing this right?! Should I be saving more aggressively for retirement? Should I try to pay off this house sooner? Or buy another property (for investment and personal use)?
