4+ years as a mechanical technician, and last year I got my engineering degree as an evening student.

I’m stuck in hands-on field work and can’t land an actual engineering title.

My current job isn’t building the analytical/reliability skills I need. Pay is good, which makes it harder to walk away, but I don’t want to stay comfortable and lose the window to move into engineering.

Anyone made this jump? How’d you build the missing skills, and how’d you frame technician experience + degree so it didn’t come across as “just a tech with a diploma”?
