Diy Potting mix

Just wanted to share my diy potting mix for container planting. 2bags premier, 7 bags pine bark mulch, 7 bags compost, 12-16cups pelletized lime. I'm in an area that doesn't have any affordable bulk media delivery options available so I'm steered toward making mixes from bagged products from Walmart. This ratio creates 1.2 yds or 32cuft of potting mix. My cost is $100.34, I also add roughly 1 teaspoon of Osmocote per gallon pot. This carries most all of my plants through a spring to fall season. Of course there are cheaper options/different recipes out there but this is what I use and works excellent.

My cuttings are propagated in a 50/50 coarse sand/ peat mix under intermittent mist and 50%shade cloth. Happy Growing! 🌿

Outdoor propagation

Howdy, just want to show my little outdoor propagation area. I'm mainly growing Texas natives, nativars and some non natives that do well in my area(central texas) I currently have the mist set to run for 25 seconds every 20 minutes. Works well although I will definitely need to adjust it to deal with some strong winds pushing the mist too quickly. I'm still moving plants in from my other area so i will post again, up until now I've been misting by hand several times a day. I'll have right around 5000 plugs in here over the next month. 🌿 🌺 🐝

Spring is a great time to begin plant propagation and create new plants for yourself and others. There is some great info in this group for those new and looking to try it out. It can be done many different ways with great success. Most of these cuttings have struck roots in 2 weeks time with the longest being the Desert Willow taking 3 weeks. Several more plants getting close to striking roots including Antelope horn Milkweed, maximillian sunflower, calylophus, Blackfoot daisy, sensitive briar, Salvia engelmannii, velvet leaf mallow, fragrant mistflower, and a few I'm forgetting as I type this. I'll post pics of them as they become transplant ready. Some of the variety will make it to my nursery and many will be replanted on our property as part of an ongoing restoration project

Took delivery of a pair of 10 eye Burgundy rub off Gripfast today. Size 10US.

First impression is they seem to be in excellent condition, I can't find any flaws in the craftsmanship. They fit great at size 10, I wear a 10.5 in most common sneakers. Shipped within 3 days of order. The "rub off" isnt very pronounced. Will update how they wear in or out in a couple of weeks.
