Naturalisation Application - Wasn’t In Country 3 Years Ago
Hello,
I’ve been living in the uk since 2010 and have had ILR since 2022, I’m planning to apply for Citizenship due to the uncertainty with Reform etc, I’ve basically filled out the form now, and ready to submit it, I’m applying for my son as well, we both got ILR together.
So my husband is a British citizen, it says I must’ve been in the country exactly 3 years ago on the exact date of application if I’m applying through the spouse route, and 5 years ago if not.
So I was actually at the start of a 1 month foreign holiday on this date 3 years ago, but I was here on this exact date 5 years ago.
I’m confused because it doesn’t let me choose which path to apply under, I meet both requirements, just not the exact day thing 3 years ago, if I apply today will it get rejected, or is it fine because I was year on this date 5 years ago? Or is it better to just wait a month to avoid the uncertainty?
Thanks
