I (24F) had an open wound pilonidal surgery in 2018. There’s been no issues since until recently. The same tailbone pain, a small amount of drainage, and the bottom of the surgical scar appears to be splitting open? I don’t see any obvious pits, and have an appointment with a pilonidal specialist soon. I am wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar and if there is any other explanation than a recurrence for a scar to be splitting 8 years later (which I am suspecting and dreading).
