Is there a definitive way to immediately recognize a bot?
Maybe I'm just gullible. Recently, my inbox has been swarmed by bots, and I honestly can't tell whether or not they are human at first. It get's pretty obvious with the discord thing, but I had one recently that went like: "Loved your fic 😄" and nothing else. So, I replied, thinking they were normal (and, mind you, they had a single (1) fic written), but then they responded asking the same bullshit. I liked [this part]... I can offer you a manga... let's collaborate... it's so. god. damn. annoying. And fairly disheartening, when I realize this incredible comment in my inbox was written by a soulless machine.
I suspect the bot's singular fic was also AI. No bookmarks, either.
So, has anyone nailed it? Because I'd like to know one when I see it--lest I get too excited and disappoint myself.
