Goat fence questions
The pictured fence was built for Scottish Highland Cattle that we raise. High tensile, electric in second from top and second from bottom. 12-15 feet between wooden posts. This section of a paddock will soon be used for some kunekune pigs and goats. Braided 4' sheep/goat wire seems to be the standard, so that's what we're planning to add to further secure the entire area. Is it likely that we'll need to add t-posts between the wooden poles? I've seen various recommendations, ranging from t-posts every 6-8 feet, to every 15-20 feet between wooden posts. We also plan to open up part of a wooded area to them using movable electric wire fence, but that's sometime in the future.
Goats: We do agritourism, so not worried about meat or milk. We're thinking 4ish wethers, probably Nigerian dwarf and/or African pygmy, but we're open to suggestions.
Also open to any other thoughts and questions!
Thanks!
