Good ways for to encourage player to player interactions

Hey (don’t mind that I just made a another post like 2 seconds ago), as said in said post my group just played session 1 and I noticed very limited player to player interaction, it’s not hard to assume it’s particularly due to half the party being new to the game and having a new dm as well as just starting the campaign.

All things considered I still want to encourage everyone to interact with each other so we all can expand our characters like for a example my character is a rogue who is a criminal and is rather hostile to both npc’s and players alike with a very untrusting personality. The problem is that I don’t want my character to be the ‘edgy rogue’ I want to be able to make my character reasonably come to trust and care for the party plus I want to talk about my backstory that I’ve put a lot of care into.

Please keep in mind I’m not the DM so I can forcefully change the campaign but I can always give suggestions as the DM would also like for everyone to have fun with the characters and explore the would that they made. So I’d really appreciate any ideas on how to encourage more player to player interactions that doesn’t completely change the way the campaign is played.

Tips to make sure all players get to roleplay?

Hey all, so today my group played our first session and most of us don’t really know each other so we didn’t know each others play styles.

I’ve noticed that a few players didn’t really roleplay and do much in the story and I’m worried that the louder players may be taking away from opportunities for the other players from engaging with the story. So I was wondering if there’s any good way to ensure everyone gets their spotlight. (Please note that we play irl) I was thinking maybe there’s something like a buzzer that turns on a light the players want to do something so then everyone can discuss and make sure everyone is included but I’m not sure if something like that exists or is budget friendly. All advice is appreciated :)
