Week one is done and you’ll be fine.
I was on the phone with my parents tonight and was reminded that this time a year ago, I was in your shoes. A few pointers —
- If you feel lost this week, that’s fine. You’re adapting to something new that law school can’t totally prep you for. Rapid (re)learning without getting too in the weeds is weird.
- Bombing MCQ is okay. If you just re-learned contracts after not thinking about it for two years, there is going to be a learning curve. You have 2+ months.
- You CAN go into the bar with weaknesses. I was terrible with property, knew it was my worst nightmare, and still passed.
- Trust yourself. You know you better than your commercial bar course does. Supplement and adapt.
Sincerely,
A J25 taker who never got more than a 3/10 on essays (state-specific exam) graded by Themis <3
