Hi everyone, hope this is okay, I’m not a cat owner but figured cat owners were the best people to ask about this!

I live on a street with A LOT of cats, I’m pretty sure I’m the only house that doesn’t have one. I love them, they’re great fun, but they seem to think my garden is their toilet. My front and back gardens are constantly covered in cat mess, i have to pressure wash everything every couple of weeks because it stinks, today when cutting the grass I managed to fill a carrier bag with cat poo from the front garden alone. Im not a scruff, I’m cleaning it up every couple of days and this is the regular amount - both my next door neighbours have 3 cats each and the people directly over the road have 8 so there are a hell of a lot of cats utilising the facilities 😅.I finished cutting the grass 5 hours ago and I’ve already had to pick up 4 more lots of cat poo since then. I’m getting really frustrated with it, but how can I deter them?

I’m a migraine sufferer and the high pitched alarms instantly trigger them so that’s not an option, the water deterrents are inconvenient as I’d need a fair few of them (plus I have a dog who hates water so I’d have to turn them off every time he goes outside). Is there another option? Or are there sprayers that are motion sensor but can also be turned off by a remote/phone? I really don’t want to upset/scare the cats in any way and won’t do anything that risks harming them obviously, but I need a solution so badly 😅

Hi everyone, I’m curious about how much of language dogs actually understand?

Basically my mum has a 1 year old chihuahua that I look after when she’s at work. I was doing Duolingo one day and the dog went nuts, jumping around, crying, leaping at my face, etc. I thought it was odd and ever since then I’ve casually spoken in another language around him to see what happens. Same response every time, in any language other than English. He does it even if I’m not speaking to him, even if he’s in his bed and I’m the other side of the room speaking to someone else, instantly goes nuts if he hears another language. He doesn’t do it with the tv, but I’m intrigued about testing it with tv shows he ‘knows’ (shows my mum watches a lot, he pays attention to the tv so I’m sure there will be shows he recognises). I should add that I’m not fluent in a second language at all, I know a couple of phrases and things of a few different ones as my dad is multilingual. He also doesn’t react at all to my dad speaking in another language, but does to me, my son and my mum. We’ve tested high Valyrian, Scot’s Gaelic, Italian, Spanish, mandarin and French. Goes mad at all of them.

Basically I’m wondering why on earth he does this? Is he recognising that it’s a different language and can’t understand why? What’s the science behind this?

Hi everyone, I’m having some issues with my elbow right now and wondered if there are any support braces people recommend. Basically every now and then my elbow decides it’s done with being functional, I get a sharp ache in it and it pretty much goes limp. Even resting it hurts and it’s just really inconvenient as its my right one, I’m right handed and my left hand is pretty useless 😂 I’ve tried vet/sport wrap but it only really helps if it’s so tight I can’t feel my hand.

(To clarify, not asking for medical advice, I’ve been to the dr and I’ve got an appointment with a physio soon, I’m just wondering if a support might help while I wait) thanks!
