Can AI-written articles actually rank on Google? Looking for real experiences

I’ve been testing AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, etc. for content creation, and I’m curious about something I keep seeing debated in the SEO community.

Can fully AI-generated articles actually rank well on Google?

I know Google has said that AI-generated content isn’t automatically against its guidelines. From what I understand, the bigger concern is whether the content is genuinely helpful, original, accurate, and created for users rather than simply produced to manipulate search rankings.

But I’d really like to hear from people who are actually running websites and have tested this themselves.

Have you published AI-generated or AI-assisted articles that eventually ranked on Google?

If yes, which approach did you use?

Published the AI article with only minor editing?

Heavily edited or completely rewritten it?

Added your own experience and opinions?

Added original research, examples, statistics or case studies?

Added original images/screenshots?

Used AI only for research and outlines, then wrote the article yourself?

Something else?

And if the content ranked, how competitive was the keyword and how long did it take to start ranking?

I’m especially interested in actual experiences from website owners, bloggers, affiliate sites and SEO professionals.

Not really looking for the usual “Google hates AI content” vs “AI content ranks perfectly” debate.

I’d love to hear real examples, results, traffic changes and what you actually did.

What has worked for you?

SEO → AEO → GEO… but where do I actually start!

I understand the basic concept, but I’m confused about the practical side.

Should I first focus on traditional SEO, then move into AEO, and eventually GEO? Or is it better to learn all three together?

Looking for recommendations for:

Good YouTube channels

Beginner-friendly courses

Practical projects or real-world experience

Any creators/resources that actually teach implementation, not just theory

If you’ve learned SEO/AEO/GEO recently, what did you start with and what resources helped you most?

Would really appreciate some direction.

Need help ranking my new bag store within a 5 km area on Google Maps

I’ve recently opened a new bag store and I’m working on my Google Business Profile. Currently, my profile strength is 76%, with around 5K views, 274 searches, and 331 interactions.

My main goal is very specific: I only want to rank within a 5 km radius of my store, for searches like bag store near me, backpacks near me, laptop bags, travel bags, etc.

What should I focus on to improve my local Google Maps ranking within this 5 km area?

Should I prioritize reviews, GBP optimization, local citations, photos/products, Google posts, or local backlinks?

Would appreciate practical advice from anyone experienced with local SEO for physical stores.

Stop publishing new SEO content for a while.

I see so many websites with 100+ pages that barely get any traffic, yet they're still publishing 4–5 new posts every month.

At some point, you have to ask yourself: Are you actually growing the website, or just adding more pages to it?

If you already have existing content, try this instead:

  1. Open Google Search Console.

  2. Set the date range to the last 28 days.

  3. Export your keyword data.

  4. Find keywords where you're ranking between positions 4–20.

  5. Look for pages that could realistically move up with some optimisation.

Then go back to those pages and improve what you already have.

Maybe you need to add a section that answers a question people are searching for. Maybe your headings don't match the search intent. Maybe you're missing a featured snippet opportunity. Or maybe the content is good, but it needs a little more depth.

You don't always need another blog post. Sometimes, the content you've already published just needs some attention.

I'm not saying new content is useless. But if you have dozens of existing pages sitting on page 2 of Google, I'd rather spend the next 60 days improving those than publishing another 10 articles and hoping something sticks.

Have you tried focusing on existing content instead of publishing new posts? Did you see a noticeable difference in traffic?

Lost 6+ Google reviews overnight — Is Google removing older reviews?

Google Business Profile reviews suddenly dropped from 15+ to only 9

I had 15+ reviews on my Google Business Profile, but now only 9 reviews are showing publicly. I haven’t deleted any reviews or made any major changes to my profile.

Has anyone else faced this issue? Is Google filtering or hiding older reviews, or could this be a temporary issue?

Any idea how I can check or recover the missing reviews?
