AC Evaporator Drain Clog--Cleaning ideas?
Ran the air conditioner for about 30 minutes and then discovered a wonderful sloshing sound and some wet carpets, so this has my full attention 🙃
I've tried snaking the drain lines from under the transmission tunnel with flexible weed-eater wire, but it can't get past the 90 degree bend in the drain hose. I see other people recommend using compressed air to blow out the clog, but that would just push debris back into the air box under the evaporator--not a good idea.
Does anyone know if there's a way to disconnect this drain hose from the inside of the car at the upper section shown? I really don't want to pull out the whole dash, but I can't get the air box to move upwards and detach the hose.
Car is a 2003 E53 X5 3.0i, same general design as the E39 so I'm asking here. Thanks in advance!!
(Also this pic is from two months ago when I had to pull the entire interior for a sunroof drain leak that soaked the entire floor. Now I get to pull the carpets again for an AC drain leak, yippee...)
