are hysas really as simple as i think

I had cash sitting in a regular checking account for years and it earned like $10 a month i transferred half of it into a hysa and it pulled in $1k in a year it blew my mind that my money grew just by sitting there but i feel like i'm missing something.my parents have way more money than i do they asked me to help organize their tax docs and they got an interest form from insurance where they earned $27 for the whole year i asked why they don't move it to a hysa and they just didn't think it was worth the effort.Am i missing something here or are they just way behind.want it more casual, more formal, or with a different tone?

Tom Hanks' 1994 portrayal of the slow-yet-lovable Forrest Gump, who finds himself involved in a number of history's defining events, earned Hanks an Academy Award for best actor, and the film took best picture honors.
