6 Soviet-style warm-up drills for rotation, footwork and mobility
A lot of boxing warm-ups are basically stand still, stretch everything, then suddenly start trying to move like a boxer.
This old Soviet-style warm-up takes the opposite approach.
The whole sequence keeps some kind of movement going while you loosen up. Arm swings while shifting on the feet, big rotational steps, windmill toe touches, shoulder and torso rotations, then straight into light boxing movement.
That’s what I like about it.
You’re not just trying to “get flexible.” You’re warming up the same things you actually need once the round starts: relaxed shoulders, loose hips, trunk rotation, weight transfer, and feet that are already awake.
