Hey everyone,
I’m from Romania and I’m thinking about moving to Sydney for work for about a year (maybe longer if things go well). I’m still in the research phase so I’d really appreciate some honest advice from people who’ve done it.
How hard is it to actually find a job when you first get there? And is it realistic to still have a decent amount of free time or is it mostly just work at the beginning?
Also, how much money would you say is enough to start with?
I’m mainly looking at hotel work (like housekeeping) or anything similar, and I’d also be interested in working with animals if that’s possible. I’m not picky, just want something stable to start with.
My English is pretty good so I’m not too worried about communication.
I also saw some Work & Travel packages that help you get started with jobs and accommodation. Are those actually worth it or is it better to just do everything on your own?
Would really appreciate any tips or personal experiences. What do you wish you knew before moving there?
