Struggling to pass credit checks [England]
23 y/o, Self Employed, last tax return was 72~ thousand (gross) w/ 4k~ of expenses. I have been trying to find somewhere to rent, and four times in a row I have been rejected because of “bad/poor credit history” even with grantors (of whom both earn >50x the monthly rent). What exactly can I do here? The “poor credit” is two defaults I got shortly after I started uni, both were settled in full in 2023.. the most expensive place I tried to get was 1100pcm, which is far below even the 30x affordability. I am just wondering what I can even do here? Those defaults will be there for another almost 2 years still and my current tenancy ends in July and I can’t extend it. Any suggestion would be appreciated :)
(I do tell the agents about this bad credit before I ask to view the property, for the avoidance of any doubt)
