Do I need to pay the labour and fitting when the work is shoddy and not "repaired"? - England
Long story short my wing mirror got smashed off when parked in a carpark.
I took it to a garage who said they could fix it up "no problem". They ways ask for part to be paid for in advanced (which I did), and then labour and fitting to be included after work is complete.
They did the work and within a week it was falling apart and the blind spot sensor wasn't working. I contacted the garage as obviously this wasn't acceptable. They appologised. They said to wait paying the invoice until it is fixed.
The cars been with them twice now (once completely overnight to allow for glue to set etc) and it's started to seperate again. Slower than last time but still visible signs of it seperating.
Now the garage are harassing me for payment of "repair, labour and fitting". However I've stated I'm not prepared to pay this until my car is fixed to the standard they promised. I still have all the texts, voice notes etc. They've said I either need to pay for the "repair" or order the parts again for them to redo it a 3rd time 🤯. Not sure what ordering the same parts is going to do.
So I legally have to pay this or not. I am happy to fight it through the courts if they want to go down that route.
