Saw a minty xj out in the wild

Forgot to get a pic of the interior (which looked brand new), I was just stalking this thing from across the parking lot at the grocery store. Saw a white haired old lady jump in it and drive away, probably owned it since new.

W5D3 in the bag!

When I started this thing I kind of presumed that I would just die trying to do week 5. This was actually not as bad as I thought it would be, and I didn't stop running the whole session. I'm now 45 pounds (20.4 kilos) down and so much of the initial leg and foot pain is not showing up anymore, love my Brooks adrenaline GTS shoes! There's a 5k next week I may sign up for!

Week 3 completed!!!

I'm wondering what the average person's experience is doing the c25k style programs? I've noticed that my last run for each week so far is where I'm most comfortable so I can definitely feel the improvement in my legs and my breathing etc.

The biggest improvement I had was actually the first runs after finding a pair of Brooks adrenaline GTS 23s at the second hand store for $8 in my size! (Big guy here, 6'4" 275 size 13).... Left me wondering if I've been wearing the wrong shoes my whole life! Leg pain and foot pain reduced massively! I can actually focus on how my feet land in my strides and not just how miserable I am!

Does anyone else get that boost of "gotta go fast" during your last running segment each day? I'm scared of w5d3 coming up....

Week one in the bag!

So I was recently (2 months ago) diagnosed with type 2 and high cholesterol. I weighed 309(140 kg) and had within the last couple years stopped working outdoors and got a desk job. Not wanting to die, I made some lifestyle changes. I quit soda and caffeine, I adjusted everything in my diet and now walk twice a day. About a week ago I thought it would be good to maybe jog a little, since my walks don't wind me like they did when I started. Holy cow, my legs. Anyhow I need like 2 ish days to recover between "runs" but I feel like I've made huge progress even though I've only made it a week on the c25k thing. I'm down to 275(124.5kg) and feel better than I have in years. Should I lock in my attempt and sign up for a 5k in a few months? I feel like a looming deadline could keep me motivated outside my health efforts. Also do people carry water bottles when they run? I probably need a smaller hydro flask, I don't need a bunch it's just nice to sip on the walking breaks in-between runs.
