Indie game concept
Would you play a co-op game where the main mechanic is communication under pressure?
I’m working on a small 3D co-op concept and I wanted to get some opinions before building too much of it.
The basic idea is that players don’t all have the same information. One player might see important warnings or directions, while another player is the one actually moving through the level. To succeed, they need to describe what they see, give quick instructions, and deal with things going wrong in real time.
I’m aiming for short rounds, maybe 5–10 minutes, with a lot of panic, confusion, bad directions, and funny moments between friends.
It would not be a big realistic survival game. More like a small communication-based co-op game where the fun comes from teamwork, pressure, and people misunderstanding each other.
Would that type of game sound fun to play with friends?
What would make a communication-based co-op game more replayable?
What usually makes games like this get boring too fast?
