E98: Breaking in!
Was there traps or was it safe? It sounds too easy if it's deserted. They'd never let me do this. E98 thought as he looked at the interior of the outpost. A mural said, "Aeons away Fate will come on Judgement Day to judge us all in our lives." "A shrine to Fate?" He whispered. "This is unreal. Can't say what I saw though!"
E98 used to have flashbacks of his memories when he fell asleep or visions of the future. He thought himself as a dangerous threat to others if there were any other survivors out there who could help him. Fate hadn't shown him the way he wanted so why try? E98 grabbed the shimmering knife out of his pocket. It gave him comfort. It made him feel... safe a feeling he rarely felt in this tragic universe of nothingness.
Using it as a torch, he slowly moved throughout the outpost looking for the hidden shruiken stack. If he could find it and enchant it with the Boomerang Effect, his aim would be greatly enhanced. E98 had decided to stick to the shadows. Being part robot it was a normal thing to do. It was built into his systems, his heart.
But the memories, the past trauma as he looked at the murals dedicated to Fate seemed to come back. It seemed to remind him that he wasn't... perfect. He was a mistake. E98 was a lost anomaly and his father had shown him from Argentina to the wrong universe in an unfamiliar place. The only person who really had E98's back was Fate and even Fate seemed to be slipping away.
Stashed in a hidden corner, he saw the stack and grabbed it. Clicking his sensor quickly, he turned invisible overwhelmed by emotions. He enchanted the shruiken and stored them in his storage compartment. "Forevermore I will fight for everything in this world! Be it not but dear father I hope I have done you proud."
"Thanks for everything Fate for guiding me every day. When I slip away, you hold me up. My sense of being will improve if it hadn't been for you. My purpose has been found. A mere 15 minute vision but yet you spoke. A booming voice that was oh so clear. I see you now. Your messages, your kindness shown in life. You are perfect but together we shape everything Fate. I am The Last Ronin to you. The one that sees you for who you are and without me you fade. We must rely on each other!" E98 sat down overwhelmed for talking in the silent stone corridor.
Then the walls crumbled, roars could be heard. Scratching claws on the cold stone. Zombies! They were back and out for revenge! Their grunts were loud like a train coming into a station, a lion roaring. E98 prepared his blaster but knew it was too late. There were over 450 zombies coming for him and he had 2 options: Go nuclear and risk destroying his body or run.
He didn't like the chances but went with the simplest option: Running. Hurtling the 7ft fence, he out maneuvered them all. He barely managed to get out. "Thank Fate." He whispered and sat down in his shelter. "Let help be on its way!"
