Upcoming Background Check Concerns Regarding Social Media
I have some worries and questions about an upcoming background check, and how to disclose certain things, as well if I'm even hirable.
I obviously do not want to omit anything, but rather how to disclose it with proper decorum, and if I should even pursue continuing.
My background is near squeaky-clean, besides from social media. I am not an avid member of public social medias, but I had a Patreon where I would post digital NSFW content (art and 3d renders, absolutely zero IRL) of pretty explicit content, as well as two embarrassing forum websites that I had an account for. The only thing connecting me to these accounts is a throwaway email, my face and any personal identifiable information has never been shared on them.
All of these have been deleted in the last year as I got out of it, I used my Patreon to pay for hobby items (I fight in medieval armor, it is a very expensive hobby). Obviously it needs to be disclosed, but these accounts have all been recently deleted before I had intentions of applying. It most certainly looks bad any way I try to frame it.
How do I go about disclosing these, and is creating digital NSFW content an unhireable issue? Should I let time pass before attempting?
