DIY mini split install

I recently bought a Della mini split from Amazon. I honestly thought shipping would take longer since it’s peak AC season, but it actually arrived pretty quickly.

The unit was delivered about 3 days ago, and I still haven’t installed it yet because I’m debating whether I should try doing it myself or just pay someone for the installation.

I’ll be honest, I’m kind of tempted to DIY it. I’m not the most experienced person when it comes to this kind of thing, but I’ve been watching some videos and doing some research, and it doesn’t look impossible.

For those who have installed a mini split themselves, how difficult was it? Any tips or things I should watch out for before I start?

Hisense U6 pro is the best TV I've owned so far

I finally replaced my old TV during Prime Day and ended up with the 65" U6 Pro. I've only had it for a few days, but I already know I should've upgraded sooner.

The first thing I noticed was during the afternoon. My living room gets a lot of sun, and with my old TV I used to close the blinds whenever I wanted to watch a movie. This weekend I realized I never bothered doing that. The screen still looked clear, and reflections weren't nearly as distracting as I expected.

I also rewatched a couple of scenes from Dune just because I wanted to compare them with my old TV. The colors looked richer, but what stood out more was that everything just looked cleaner. Desert scenes, skies, and skin tones all looked more natural instead of looking overly processed.

Another thing I didn't expect was how little time I spent adjusting settings. Usually I end up watching YouTube calibration videos for an hour after buying a TV. This time I picked Cinema mode, made one or two small changes, and then just started watching.

Still way too early for a full review, but after 3 days I'm pretty happy with it. Curious what everyone else picked up during Prime Day.

Got 4K120 HDR working on my TV with Moonlight but the latency is all over the place

Been trying to get a solid Moonlight setup going from my PC to the living room TV for about two weeks. Wired gigabit on the host side, TV is on WiFi 5GHz about 15 feet from the router with a clear line of sight.

The good part: I got 4K120 working. Took longer than it should have because the TV's HDMI port defaults to Standard instead of Enhanced and I didn't notice. Once I flipped that, Moonlight picked up 120Hz right away and the stream is buttery when it's behaving.

The bad part: latency spikes randomly. I'll be at 3 to 4 ms for ten minutes and then it jumps to 15 to 20 ms for no obvious reason. Same game, same scene, same time of day. Doesn't seem to be network congestion because nothing else is using bandwidth when it happens.

The other thing: HDR is hit or miss. Some games look incredible. Others get this weird washed out look, like a gray filter over everything. Turning HDR off in Moonlight fixes it but then I lose all the contrast range. I tried HDR on in Windows, off in Moonlight, calibrated the TV's game mode HDR separately from SDR. Still inconsistent.

Things I've ruled out so far. Not the host PC or the network, 4080 and local gameplay is flawless.

Anyone else dealt with this? Specifically the random latency jumps on what should be a stable wired-to-wireless Moonlight setup.
