Pokemon should start charging scalper prices for their cards. 90% of the card stores in California already charge above market or at market price for cards they got from distribution. Anything at target or Best Buy or the machines or pokemon center sell out within seconds and bots buy them up ( I tried the “bot” method and studied this ) yes sometimes it did work for me but 99% of the time it does not. There are SO MANY bots now that not all the bots have a chance to buy anything. Or it crashes websites. Or you sit in line for hours with no avail. I’d like to see pokemon charge 180$ for an elite trainer box ( since obviously all inventory will sell out at 60$ anyway and people are willing to pay above x2 retail anyways so what’s the point? We have people did fighting and killing each other over making 100$ or getting in line first. We have people doing whatever it takes to make freaking pocket change and it’s really getting out of hand. If weekly we have to have a manager walk outside of best buy and explain how much they have on hand to a line of 80+ people is not normal. Pokemon needs to either print to hell and back every single pokemon set and never discontinue sets so the market price drops or raise their prices to where if re sellers where to re sell they wouldn’t be able to sell it as quickly unless it was some rich person. It’s super lame it’s no longer a fun kids thing and it’s turned into either nostalgic adult collectors that don’t want to pay above msrp. Or people with gambling addictions or scalpers. I am one of those people. I bought 8 tins at cvs for 105$ and re sold them on eBay for 180$. So I know how it is from my perspective and it’s honestly getting stupid as hell. There were 50 tons left 5 mins before cvs closed. I came back the next morning 5 mins before store opening and they were sold out. and the store was empty before closing and when the opened. Meaning employees bought them out. I feel bad for anyone who collects these cards or just wants to play. May as well start printing paper copies of these cards like we did in the early 2000’s when your parents couldn’t afford the cards at 3-4$ a piece per pack so you could just play the game. It’s like a day worth of work now to afford a few packs of pokemon cards now and days. Tell me I’m wrong. When we went to Japan the cards had way more pulls. I’m honestly glad English versions have worse pull rates as we deserve it.
