Lesbian Couple Trying to determine where to settle abroad
Hello! Me (20f BS in Geosciences) and my spouse (21f BA in English) have long decided we didnt want to settle down in the United States but rather move abroad and aim to get citizenship before we try to have a family. We have some countries in mind such as Canada, Ireland, and potentially the Netherlands.
Personally, Canada is a bit too close to the US for my liking and I cheerish the idea of being close to other countries so that vacations can be spent seeing new countries on a lower budget. However, Canada seems to be the best in terms of moving feasability and has better support for same sex couples.
I would love to know about any personal experiences yall have had with moving to any of these countries or if yall have other countries that would be a good fit.
We are aiming for a place that is Lgbtq+ friendly, low violence, protects womens rights, good cost of living, relatively easy to gain citizenship (6yr or less), and offers free healthcare.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated!!
