I have my first Enbrel injection scheduled for tomorrow and I'm absolutely terrified. I've had RA for over 20 years and it has taken me this long to even consider the medication. Besides all of the normal side effects, I'm worried about in sending me into a bad flare- I have a concert on Thursday, a competition on Friday ( 17 hour day), and a parade on Monday- Should I reschedule for next week or are my fears unfounded?
I've had Rheumatoid Arthritis for 20 years- I started with abx protocol (2.5 years), herbals, LDN, and then plaquenil. I've been managing the pain with AIP for about a decade, maybe a bit longer, but my labs/X-rays show severe deformities, erosions, etc. Both wrists and ankles are fused, there is severe ulnar drift in both hands, elbow doesn't move past 110 degrees, etc. I haven't been able to really reintroduce much besides limited dairy and eggs and white rice so it's been a pretty restrictive diet as well. I've finally agreed to try a biologic (Enbrel) to stave off further damage. Has anyone found relief combining both AIP with conventional medicine? Has it helped with your food sensitivity reactions to non-core AIP foods (legumes? nightshades? grains? seeds/nuts?)
