I’m looking at a feline one by pet control hq on Amazon but I heard you can use human ones . I’d like to get one asap from like a pharmacy or something. Can anyone suggest anything?
So my 9 year old was diagnosed with liver cancer that has spread and diabetes. I’m quite disappointed in the vet I went to as I wasn’t told how to manage the diabetes once told about it, However I can research. I just have quite a few questions.
- I keep seeming to hurt him with the needle. Is there “going in too far”? The length of the needle is about half an inch. I’m doing shoulder blade area and I try to switch up placement just shifting slightly each time. I do the tent pull.
- I give him the shot then feed immediately after. Should I feed first and wait 30 min about? Or does it matter.
- how does anyone plan holidays? How can you afford to skip a shot? On that note just for emergency situations how late is the latest I can be with giving a shot? 30 min to an hour?
-What foods are you guys doing for kibble? I know not ideal but I’m doing orijen guardian.
-he’s puking bile the last day and a bit. Is that diabetes related?
- if he’s on insulin now, and his levels are balanced, can he have treats like temptations sparingly?

I’m on caninsulin right now twice a day two units. I read Lantus is better though. I asked to be switched and it changed to one unit twice a day. But it’s 200 where as caninsulin is 100. I’m willing to pay whatever but if they’re similar I might keep him on caninsulin. Any advice?
