Advice needed

I've been fobbed off for decades by GPs telling me I have atopic eczema and to use steroid cream and moisturise, moisturise, moisturise. It's not that simple, is it, as even the mildest moisturisers can make it worse. The only steroid cream I've used and that worked quickly (about 35-40 years ago) was called Topilar but it hasn't been available for many years. It contained salycilic acid and seemed to slough off the dead skin at the same time as healing the skin underneath. Is anyone aware of a replacement or alternative for Topilar or even a hand moisturiser containing salycilic acid? Is it even safe to use products containing salycilic acid if you have eczema? I'd be grateful for any advice.

What can I do in two and a half days in Liverpool?

Hello, I wonder if anyone could help with the following questions. I'm going to have a short break in Liverpool in September with a friend (one afternoon and two full days). We want to make the best use of our time so what should we

  1. Try not to miss
  2. Avoid doing, or going to
  3. Is there anything that visitors to Liverpool tend to miss but are worth doing?

My husband suggested the Philharmonic pub, but he was last there in the 1980s. Also, we're two ladies in our 60s so we're not looking for wild nightlife.

Grateful for any suggestions.

Suggestions for a flying visit to Perth

Hello, I'm going to be in Perth for about 2 and a half days at the end of the month. Can anyone recommend things to do in such a short time - what to do, where to eat, decent pubs. Thank you.

▲ 20 r/Medals

Please could someone help identify a medal (UK)?

Hello, I'm helping a friend research her family tree. She has inherited the medal above but knows nothing about it. Neither of us has any military knowledge or connections so I'm hoping someone here can point us in the right direction. The pictures are not very good, but the medal has a ribbon that has red, white and blue "watery" stripes and the medal itself is like a star with crossed swords. It has 1914-15 on the front and some writing on the back which is quite rubbed. I think it says "31289 P.... H or M Walker. North". Could anyone tell me what the medal is and what it might have been awarded for. Also, it's attached to a long pin which looks as though there may be three medals missing. Why would medals have been removed? Surely military personnel would want all there medals kept together? I would be very grateful for any advice. Thank you.

[CHAT] Can anyone give me some advice please?

Hello, I wonder if anyone could give me some advice. I don't sew but recently went on a workshop where we were taught the technique to make church kneelers. I thought I might be able to try this at home as the needles are large but could really do with some advice. My questions are;

1 - Can anyone tell me if there is a special name for a half cross stitch?

2 - Could I buy a cross stitch kit and just use the half cross stitch method?

3 - Is there a specific type of kit I should look out for if half cross stitch is not suitable for using on a cross stitch kit?

I would be very grateful for any help.
