Editing to add context (thank you @dragongotz): there was no need to signal/check the lane due to the way the road layout was designed. There was no lane change done by the Tesla. No traffic should be in that lane unless someone does breaks the law and crosses the doubles/intersection and enter oncoming traffic briefly and powers through, just like the black SUV.
Starting to get a little nervous with such a high mortality rate and always being exposed to so many people every weekend at weddings. Someone please tell me I'm overthinking it
