Who remembers the epic fantasy series of the late 1980's by Weir and Hickman? They've penned one of the best series I've ever read and its called Rose of the Prophet. 3 books in all. So good that it gave me chills when i read it at 18 and the enjoyment was the same when i read it again at 53. Not much spiciness, more of a slow burn and enemies to lovers situation but interaction between characters and worldbuilding are amazing. Give it a try!
