Obviously Miura took aesthetic inspiration from Brian DePalma's Phantom of the Paradise (great movie btw give it a watch if you haven't!)

But having recently seen it myself I can't help but see a lot of parallels between Winslow Leach, Swan and both Griffith and Guts (not always 1:1, some parts of Winslow and Swan remind me of both characters). Specifically in their journeys of dreams vs. what you're willing to do to achieve them (and just how badly life can screw you over in pursuit of those goals).

Anyway, all this to say (similar to the end of Phantom of the Paradise): Do you think there's going to be a wedding that Guts and friends will have to crash in Falconia? It feels like the story is heading in that direction since >! Casca appears to be in a wedding dress in Falconia. !< And >! Guts is trapped in a room with nothing but his thoughts, like how Winslow was sealed in his studio with bricks before breaking out to try and save Phoenix. !<

It just feels kind of logical, especially after watching this film. But why would Griffith marry Casca over anyone else? Or do you think there won't be a wedding at all? Thoughts? 🤔

Do you see any other parallels between this film and Berserk? Do tell!
