I'm wanting to get involved in the Civil War reenactment scene. The only problem is, I have no idea where to get started. I'm a teenager in the Houston area but I can't find any organized groups online. Am I going to have to go broader? Some more questions:

1. I wear cochlear implants. Am I allowed to wear them, or have I got to take them off for historical accuracy?
2. How do y'all decide who gets "shot"? Is it all acting, or are you actually being hit with a BB or something? And what do you do afterwards?
