new user, need help!

Hello all, some backstory: I recently bought a new (used) gaming laptop from a friend and we're not sure why but windows 10 refused to reset on it, even after moving the drive to a PC to wipe it Windows would not install.. so I decided to take the leap into Linux and decided I would try Bazzite, since I've heard great things about it for gaming.

Now here's the problem I'm having... when I boot up with an external monitor plugged into the HDMI port, Bazzite can see my dGPU fine and it both outputs to a second monitor and shuts down completely. However, if I don't have an external monitor plugged in when i boot up, it won't output to an external monitor or fully shut down and once the OS has shut down I have to press and hold the power button until the rest of the machine (presumably the dGPU?) switches off.

I have tried looking online and I wanted to try and disable the iGPU in the BIOS/EUFI but it's very barebones and doesn't have the option that i can see, only stuff for virtualisation.

the laptop has an RTX 3070 mobile GPU and an i7-11800H CPU with 16GB DDR4-3200 RAM.

I installed the "bazzite-nvidia-open-stable-live-amd64" iso and installed from the live desktop.

If I've missed anything crucial ask me and I'll edit it here and in reply to the comment. other than these couple issues, I've really enjoyed using Bazzite.
