tour curtailment
spouse here. we are currently overseas and have about 10 months left on our orders. i recently found out i’m pregnant, but the pregnancy has become medically complicated. due to these issues, i’m required to give birth in the US and will need multiple surgeries after childbirth.
because of pregnancy flying restrictions, i have to be off island by around august/september. the problem is that by the time i give birth and fully recover from surgery, we will already be past our projected checkout date. i will have significant lifting and mobility restrictions for months afterward, which will make it difficult for me to assist with moving, travel, or even caring for our children during that period.
we are trying to figure out what options families in this situation usually have. has anyone gone through a tour curtailment or similar process due to medical complications during pregnancy? if so, how long did approvals take and what was the overall process like?
