Messer vs Dion is apparently the Security+ equivalent of iPhone vs Android and I walked right into it

Made the mistake of asking this in another sub and got twelve different opinions and one guy who told me to just read the official CompTIA study guide like a psychopath.

For context I'm a complete beginner. No IT background, no certs, nothing. Just a guy who watched too many Mr. Robot episodes and decided cybersecurity was the move. Trying to get Security+ as my foot in the door.

From what I can tell Messer is the calm methodical professor type and Dion is the guy who will absolutely get you through the exam but might give you anxiety in the process. Is that a fair read or am I completely off?

Also is it true you basically need both or is that just people overcomplicating it
