Go to Lebanon (Tripoli), yes or no?
I’m trying to figure out how to assess the current situation in Tripoli, Lebanon, because the information out there is totally contradictory.
If you watch the news or look at official government warnings, they tell you absolutely not to go. But at the same time, if you talk to the people who actually live in Tripoli, they find the city very safe and say it’s totally fine to visit.
I’m really torn here. On one hand, you have the locals telling you that daily life is normal and that they feel safe. On the other hand, there are major structural risks that you can't ignore, like the regional conflict and unpredictable airspace closures.
What do you think? Is it genuinely reckless for a traveler to go to Tripoli right now, or is the danger being exaggerated by Western media while the situation on the ground is actually manageable?
