I'm stuck at 48 in Puzzle Storm. So I built a Chrome extension to finally train properly and fix that.
I've been plateauing for years. And I think I finally figured out why.
Most people grind Storm sessions and never look back. New puzzles every day.
The problem isn't the quantity of puzzles you solve. It's that your brain never gets the chance to actually lock in the pattern.
There's a reason the Woodpecker Method works: repetition of the same positions until your brain stops "solving" and starts recognizing. The issue is Lichess doesn't let you do that. Once a Storm session ends, those puzzles are gone. You failed 30 tactics in 10 sessions of puzzle storm and have zero way to go back through them efficiently.
So I built something to fix exactly that.
StormRacer is a Chrome extension that runs silently while you play. When your session ends, every puzzle you solved, failed, or went slow on is saved automatically. No clicks, no copy-pasting links, nothing.
Then — and this is the part that actually matters — you hit Review, and they play back one after another like a new Storm session. Fail one? It loops back. Nail it fast? Next one instantly. You can drill 100 puzzles from yesterday in 10 minutes without touching a single link.
Your brain sees the same pattern 3, 4, 5 times across different sessions. That's when it stops being a puzzle you "figure out" and becomes a pattern you feel.
It also flags your slow puzzles — the ones you got right but took 20 seconds on. Those are the dangerous ones. You think you know them, but under time pressure you'd miss them. StormRacer makes sure you don't.
