My overall theory
so I’m a newcomer to the sub, I have an idea on how thing are gonna end up and I’m sorry for repeating or if it is really obvious for the sub, want to know what everyone thinks about this
so my theory goes as such
we know the kids were sacrificed by the monsters to become immortal
we know Tabitha and Jade are reincarnation of past townsfolk
we know Tabitha always has children and she always ends up getting blamed by the town like it is all her fault
we know Victor‘s mom (a Tabitha past life) put herself in danger to save Victor.
so my theory goes that the town keeps calling back 47 people to have them sacrifice Tabitha‘s son and complete the ritual. original Tabitha refused to have her son (boy in white) sacrificed to the town, and kept refusing to sacrifice her son to the town each iteration.
the monster can’t directly harm victor, Jade, Tabitha or Ethan without losing their immortality. But they can indirectly torment the townsfolk to the brink of insanity and violence so they will do whatever they can to leave, which is exemplified by Boyd’s descent into more and more brazen acts of violence for what he thinks is necessary.
this is what child Jade meant when he said Tabitha will have it even worse than straight up dying when the town finds out what they did, and why MiY is so sure the people will turn on each other soon.
The townsfolk will try to force her into sacrificing Ethan so they can leave the same way they tried to force her to sacrifice Victor in the previous iteration, and each iteration Jade has been the one first figuring it out and then trying to stop them from killing Tabitha’s son
So in the end, Victor (technically Tabitha’s son) will accept to be sacrificed himself to be a hero and free the people of Fromville.
