Lamy Safari writes for 20 seconds, then stops. Any idea what’s wrong?

Hi everyone,

I’m having a strange issue with my Lamy Safari. I just replaced the ink cartridge with a new Lamy cartridge.

The pen writes perfectly for about 20 seconds, then it suddenly stops. If I leave it for a while, it starts writing again, but only for another ~20 seconds before stopping again.

I’ve already checked that the cartridge is fully seated.

It’s also extremely hot where I live right now (around 35°C / 95°F). Could the heat have anything to do with this, or is it more likely a feed or nib issue?

Has anyone experienced something similar? Any tips on how to fix it?

Thanks!

Made my own TN inserts from my late grandfather’s old papers and a Moon magazine

Traveler’s Notebook inserts are beautiful, but honestly… they’re also insanely expensive.

I used the original ones at first, but I realized I was almost afraid to write anything on the paper because it felt too “precious.” And that kind of defeats the whole point of a notebook.

I’m currently clearing out my late grandfather’s apartment, and I found a small pile of old papers, scraps, and a magazine about the journey to the Moon. So I took a paper cutter, a sewing machine, and made my own inserts.

They’re not perfect, but that’s exactly why I already love them. They feel much easier to actually use and hopefully this little stack will last me for the next two months. :D

My Traveler’s Notebook cut my screen time in half

My wife bought me a Traveler's Notebook in March, and it has become my everyday companion maybe even more than my wife. 😄

I'm trying to use it as a replacement for my phone whenever possible. It's actually working: my average screen time is down to about 2 hours a day, from 4 hours before.

Right now I use:

- one notebook for journaling and tracking my daily routine,
- one as a task manager and commonplace book,
- one for sketching.

Anyone else using their Traveler's Notebook to reduce phone usage?
