I am a UG student and starting consulting prep from scratch, but I am genuinely lost, how did you all do it?

I keep seeing people say "just do cases", but I have no idea where to even begin. Did you start with YouTube, buy a course, find a partner, join a community, what actually worked?

Also, honestly curious, did you ever pay for prep? Was it actually worth it, or did you feel like you could have figured it out for free?
