I cased my leather carefully (no soaking), tooled it, and now these little dark specks have popped up, less than 4 hours after casing. Is this mold? Where does it come from? They have a green/blue tint. Thanks!

Welt a different color than the rest of the sheath?

Is it possible/feasible to dye the welt of a knife sheath a different color and maintain crisp color lines once the edges are completed? For example, I'd like to make a sheath brown with a red central welt. Any suggestions?
