Foot positioning

Thanks for all the tips last week on my stance, even though the tone from some was critical, I finally went to a private boxing lesson with a coach from a boxing gym.

He told me never to place my feet like first image A. He said my rear foot was pointing way out and my stance was too wide.

He advised to place my feet like B - both feet a shoulder width apart and pointing forward, this would give me a stronger base, more power for jabs and crosses and allow me lateral movement. And testing it, he was right.

I am interested. I feel I haven’t seen this stance of B before (both feet facing forward). Especially because some coaches in the past said the rear foot should be at a bit of an angle.

I will follow my coach’s advice it is better than what I was doing in “A”.

Thoughts on a stance with BOTH front and rear feet facing forward and no angle at all on the rear foot?

Tips? 8 months

8 months between beginner boxing/kickboxing at a MMA gym - have been doing a lot of KB recently but want to work on my hands.

Just got a new water based standing bag - not incredibly stable - trying to get used to it

From what I can see - I jab w my body too straight and upright / -need to have my chin down and use my shoulder to cover it and crouch/move forward with my full body into my jab - I can’t throw a full power cross bc my bag is shit and will fall over but should do the same for my crosses.
