A1C increased after I got healthier

Hi all, I just wanted to see if anyone else has had something similar. I am 31F andover the past few years I've lost about 55lbs, even when I was at my highest weight, eating out all the time, eating a bunch of sweets, and drinking alcohol, my a1c was never over 5.6. Now I've lost weight, eat out less than once a month and even then it's mindful, stopped drinking completely, and exercise 5x a week including both strength training and cardio and my A1C is at 5.9. I'm so confused and feel so defeated. I have recently (last 10 weeks or so) started getting more intense with my workouts and was wondering if that could be it? I just feel so defeated. I do eat plenty of protein, don't eat carbs alone (I pair with protein) and intake about 30grams of fiber a day. I've been putting in serious work and for me to now be officially prediabetic just feels like it's been for nothing. I have no diabetic symptoms such as thirst, unexplained weight loss (I've worked very hard for every single pound), fatigue, I'm just confused. I am technically still about 30lbs overweight so I'm still working on weight loss. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
