Does Anyone Else Double-Check AI Recommendations?
I’ve started using AI assistants more often when researching tools or services, and one thing I noticed is how quickly I trust the suggestions they give. Sometimes I’ll ask for “best tools for remote teams” or “good software for small businesses,” and the AI instantly provides a few names with explanations. But it made me wonder something interesting: how does the AI actually decide which brands to mention and which ones to ignore? There are probably thousands of companies in every category, yet only a few consistently appear in responses. I’m curious whether it’s mostly based on online authority, reviews, mentions across the web, or something else entirely. Feels like this could become a huge topic over the next few years as more people rely on AI for recommendations.
